Help Mend The Cycle was a social venture founded by a Uniting Communities client, Nicky, who wanted to ‘help mend the cycle’ of addiction by giving vulnerable people a chance to connect and feel valued through fixing up old bikes and giving them to the poor. When a Uniting Communities (UC) counsellor first heard Nicky’s idea, they felt UC may be able to help him bring this dream to life by offering him support and ‘office’ space, so that’s what they did!
Help Mend The Cycle has became a valuable part of Uniting Communities drug and alcohol support services.
